About the NW Region • The Northwest Region was chartered in 2002 for Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington by professionals representing all aspects of the design and construction industry in the Northwest. We support and promote the use of integrated design and construction for both public and private use.

DBIANW's educational program year runs from September through June, with monthly topical programs dealing with Design-Build issues such as Transportation, Water/Waste Water, Sustainability, and Energy Efficient/High Performance Buildings.  The 3rd Annual DBIANW Golf Tournament will be held in June 2013.

Announcing DBIA's Second Annual Design-Build Student Competition

The Design Build Institute of America invites you to participate in its second National Design-Build Student Competition. Unlike other student competitions, DBIA’s design-build competition will mirror best practices in actual design-build project delivery by breaking the competition into a two-phase process.

Phase 1 (Regional Competition) will be the issuance of a general “problem” statement (RFQ) that requires teams of four to provide a broad, all-encompassing solution to the problem presented, along with data on your team skill set (including how you’ve been educated on Design-Build at your University) to meet the qualifications needed to accomplish the owner goals.

Phase 2 (National Competition), an RFP is issued to the final three “shortlisted” teams, and teams will have one week to respond in full to the RFP. These three finalists will compete for the grand prize during the 2013 Design-Build Conference & Expo, at which time the winner will also be publicly acknowledged.
